Tekcash Loan SEC Registered or Not in Philippines? Legit Check

Short answer: Yes, Tekcash is SEC registered. In the SEC’s public “Check with SEC” lookup, Tekcash appears as Tekwang Lending Corp. doing business under the name and style of Tekcash, SEC No. CS201911369, registered on July 12, 2019, with the status “Registered.” Tekwang Lending also states a Certificate of Authority (CA) No. 3032 on its Google Play and App Store listings. Registration proves the company exists and is allowed to lend. It does not tell you how it prices loans or treats borrowers, and there was one 2024 SEC action you should read about below.

Copies of the SEC’s list of financing and lending companies with online lending platforms that circulate online (a November 2021 version) also show Tekcash next to CS201911369 and CA No. 3032, which matches what the company states today. Always confirm against the current SEC list of lending companies, because the SEC updates it.

SEC registration, Certificate of Authority and platform disclosure: what is the difference?

Many borrowers only look for one number. A legal lending app in the Philippines should pass three separate checks:

CheckWhat it meansTekcash
SEC registration (CS number)The company is a registered corporationCS201911369, status Registered
Certificate of Authority (CA)The SEC licence that lets a lending company actually offer loansNo. 3032, stated by the company
Online lending platform disclosureThe app or website name is disclosed to the SEC under its online lending rulesListed under the Tekcash name in SEC lending-company lists we found; confirm on the current list

A company can hold a registration number and still lose its authority to lend, so the CA and the cease and desist list matter as much as the CS number.

Is Tekcash legit? What SEC registration does and does not mean

For a Filipino borrower, “legit” usually means two things: the lender is allowed to operate, and it will not take your money or data and disappear. On the first point, the records show a registered lending company with a named address in Taguig. That is very different from anonymous apps that cannot be traced to any registered company.

On the second point, registration is only a starting point. It does not cap your interest, set your loan terms, or guarantee polite collection. Tekcash’s own listings describe pricing in two different ways, which is why you should read the loan terms section below and our Tekcash interest rate guide. You can also read what borrowers say in Tekcash loan review complaints and Tekcash harassment reports.

The 2024 SEC cease and desist order: what it was about

In June 2024 the SEC announced cease and desist orders against six financing and lending companies, and Tekwang Lending Corp. was one of them. According to news reports of the SEC statement, the orders covered failures to comply with SEC requirements such as submitting an annual impact evaluation report, providing an official email and contact number, disclosing online lending advertisements and platforms, and setting up a complaints handling mechanism, along with registration with the Credit Information Corporation and a list of third-party service providers (Inquirer, BusinessWorld).

Those are compliance and reporting items. The SEC statement did not describe them as a finding of abusive collection. Several third-party review sites say the order was lifted later in 2024, but we could not find an SEC notice confirming that, so we do not state it as fact. What we can say is that the SEC registry still showed Tekcash as “Registered” when we checked in September 2026. Check the SEC’s cease and desist orders page for the latest position.

How to check if Tekcash is SEC registered yourself (2 minutes)

  1. Open the SEC’s Check with SEC page and search “Tekcash” or “Tekwang.”
  2. Confirm the company name, the SEC number (CS201911369) and that the status says Registered.
  3. Cross-check the name in the SEC list of lending companies for the Certificate of Authority.
  4. Look for the company on the SEC’s cease and desist orders list.
  5. Download only from the official stores and confirm the developer is TEKWANG LENDING CORP. on Google Play or the App Store. See our Tekcash app download guide for the official links.
  6. Make sure the company name in your loan agreement and disclosure statement is the same: Tekwang Lending Corp.

Red flags that mean it is NOT the real Tekcash

  • Someone asks you to pay a “processing,” “insurance” or “release” fee before you receive money. This matches the advance fee loan scam the SEC has warned about.
  • The loan is offered on Facebook, Telegram or SMS by a person using a personal GCash or bank account.
  • You are asked to install an APK from a link instead of Google Play or the App Store.
  • The developer name is not TEKWANG LENDING CORP.

Tekcash loan terms: check the disclosure before you accept

Both store listings say loans run from ₱1,000 to ₱90,000 for eligible Filipino borrowers aged 18 and above with a valid government ID and a stable income. The pricing details are not identical:

  • The App Store listing shows terms of 2 to 12 months, a maximum APR of 36%, and an example of ₱20,000 over 120 days costing ₱960 in interest.
  • The Google Play listing shows terms of 3 to 12 months, a maximum APR of 144% with a monthly effective interest rate capped at 12%, and an example where a ₱20,000 loan over 120 days carries ₱2,640 in interest plus a ₱5,280 service fee, for a total repayment of ₱27,920.

Do not rely on either example. Your actual rate, fees and schedule appear in the in-app disclosure statement before you accept a loan, and that is the only figure that counts. New to Tekcash? See what borrowers report about the Tekcash first loan amount.

So is it safe to borrow from Tekcash?

Registered status is a good sign, and app store ratings are strong (about 4.7 on both Google Play and the App Store when we checked). Reviews are mixed on collection conduct and cost: some borrowers praise fast disbursement, others complain about the tone of collectors or the size of fees. Borrow only what you can repay on schedule, read the full disclosure, and never pay a “release fee” to anyone before receiving your loan.
