Tekcash Interest Rate Philippines: APR, Fees & Cost Example

Short answer: Tekcash publishes two different sets of pricing. Its Google Play listing shows a maximum APR of 144% (a monthly effective interest rate capped at 12%) plus a service fee, and its App Store listing shows a maximum APR of 36%. In Google Play’s own example, a ₱20,000 loan over 120 days costs ₱27,920 to repay. Your real rate is the one in the disclosure statement you see before accepting, so read that first.

Sa madaling salita: Nasa 3.3% interest + 6.6% service fee kada buwan ang halimbawa ng Google Play (9.9% kabuuan). Laging basahin ang disclosure statement bago mag-accept.

Both listings are published by Tekwang Lending Corp. (see Google Play and App Store), checked on September 21, 2026. Google Play also says Tekcash offers customized products for clients with high credit scores.

Why do the two Tekcash listings show different rates?

We cannot tell from the public information. The gap is large: the App Store example adds ₱960 to a ₱20,000 loan, while the Google Play example adds ₱7,920. Possible reasons include different loan products, different borrower tiers, or a listing that is out of date, but that is speculation and Tekcash has not explained it. What matters for you is the disclosure statement shown in the app before you accept, which should state your total repayment, fees and due dates.

How Tekcash interest is calculated (Google Play example)

The Google Play example uses a daily proration of a monthly rate:

  • Interest = loan × 3.3% ÷ 30 × number of days. For ₱20,000 over 120 days: ₱2,640.
  • Service fee = loan × 6.6% ÷ 30 × number of days. For ₱20,000 over 120 days: ₱5,280.
  • Total repayment = loan + interest + service fee = ₱27,920, paid as four installments of ₱6,980.

Together, interest and the service fee come to 9.9% per month, or about 0.33% of the loan per day. That is below the 12% monthly cap Tekcash states, and 12% a month is where the 144% APR figure comes from (12% × 12 months). In this example the charges add up to ₱7,920, or 39.6% of the amount borrowed, over four months.

Sample cost table (an illustration, not a Tekcash quote)

The table applies the Google Play example rates (3.3% interest plus 6.6% service fee per month) to different amounts over 120 days. Your actual rates may differ.

LoanInterestService feeTotal chargesTotal repaymentPer month (4 installments)
₱2,000₱264₱528₱792₱2,792₱698
₱5,000₱660₱1,320₱1,980₱6,980₱1,745
₱10,000₱1,320₱2,640₱3,960₱13,960₱3,490
₱20,000₱2,640₱5,280₱7,920₱27,920₱6,980
₱50,000₱6,600₱13,200₱19,800₱69,800₱17,450

Charges are proportional to days, so a shorter term costs less in total. For example, ₱5,000 for 30 days would carry about ₱495 in combined charges at these rates. Some borrowers report shorter schedules on early loans, so confirm your own due dates.

Is the Tekcash interest rate high?

By the Google Play numbers, borrowing costs about 9.9% of the amount each month, which is much higher than a typical bank personal loan. For context, the SEC and the Bangko Sentral cap charges on small loans: for unsecured loans of ₱10,000 or less with a term of up to four months, the ceiling is 6% a month in nominal interest and, as reported for the SEC’s 2025 update, 12% a month in effective interest that includes fees (see BusinessWorld and the SEC FAQ on the earlier circular). Those ceilings do not cover larger or longer loans such as the ₱20,000 example. A higher rate is not proof of wrongdoing; it simply means you should check the total cost before you accept.

What the store examples do not show

  • Late payment charges. Neither listing states penalties for late payment, so look for them in your loan agreement.
  • Your personal rate. The examples are “representative,” and your rate can depend on your credit assessment.
  • Other fees. Confirm whether there are any charges beyond interest and the service fee, and whether any fee is deducted before you receive the loan.

Lenders are required to disclose the true cost of credit under the Truth in Lending Act, and the SEC has revoked a lender’s authority in the past for failing to disclose true lending rates (Inquirer).

How to check your Tekcash rate before you accept

  1. Open the disclosure statement in the app and find the total amount you will repay, not just the monthly figure.
  2. Note the service fee, the interest, the number of installments and each due date.
  3. Take a screenshot of the offer so you can compare it later.
  4. Ask Tekcash customer service to confirm any figure you do not understand.
  5. Compare with other options. You can compare loan options from other lenders on our homepage.

Ways to keep the cost down

  • Borrow only what you need. Charges grow directly with the amount and the number of days.
  • Choose the shortest term you can afford, since the example prorates charges by day.
  • Ask Tekcash whether repaying early reduces the charges, because the store listings do not say.
  • Pay on the due date. See how to pay for repayment channels, and read our notes on collection complaints if you fall behind.

To confirm the company behind the app, read whether Tekcash is SEC registered. For what borrowers say about costs and service, see Tekcash loan review complaints. Wondering how much you can borrow first? See the Tekcash first loan amount.
