Tekcash Harassment Philippines: What to Do
Short answer: Some borrowers have publicly said that Tekcash collectors were rude or pushy, and Tekcash has publicly replied that harassment is strictly prohibited. We did not find any published SEC or National Privacy Commission (NPC) decision finding that Tekcash harassed borrowers. So reports exist, they are individual accounts, and they have not been confirmed by a regulator in the sources we could check. If it happens to you, follow the steps below: keep evidence, write to Tekcash, then complain to the SEC and NPC.
Note: TEKCASH (tekcash.app) is an independent comparison website. We are not the Tekcash lending app, we are not affiliated with Tekwang Lending Corp., and we do not make loan decisions. What borrowers have publicly said about Tekcash harassment
- Google Play review (August 2026): a reviewer who called processing smooth and fast said collectors or agents sent “arrogant/rude” messages even though the account was not yet overdue. Tekcash’s developer reply said its collection team does not have advance access to client accounts unless they are overdue and that harassment is strictly prohibited. See the Tekcash Google Play page.
- App Store reviews: Tekcash replies to reviewers who say they felt harassed and asks them to use the in-app live chat or email complaint@tekcash.ph so it can investigate. See the App Store page.
- Reddit: borrowers post about overdue Tekcash accounts on communities about online lending harassment, for example r/ola_harassment. Search Reddit for “Tekcash” to read the threads. These are personal accounts that we cannot verify.
- Positive reports too: many app store reviews describe quick disbursement and clear repayment schedules, so experiences differ from borrower to borrower.
We are not saying these reports prove a pattern. We are saying they are public, so you should know about them before borrowing.
Tekcash loan harassment: what Tekcash says
In its public replies to reviewers, Tekwang Lending says harassment is not allowed, that collection contact is tied to overdue accounts, and that borrowers can send feedback through its feedback page. Its complaints address is complaint@tekcash.ph and its support address is support@tekcash.ph. The hotline and live chat hours are in our guide to the Tekcash customer service number.
Is there a Tekcash harassment investigation?
We found no public SEC or NPC investigation or ruling about harassment by Tekcash. The only public SEC action we found involving Tekwang Lending is the June 2024 cease and desist order, which news reports say concerned compliance and reporting requirements, not collection conduct (Inquirer). Read more in our guide on whether Tekcash is SEC registered. Complaints filed with regulators are not always published, so the absence of a public ruling is not proof that no complaints exist.
What counts as harassment under SEC rules?
SEC Memorandum Circular No. 18, Series of 2019 lists unfair debt collection practices for lending and financing companies and their third-party collectors. Read summaries from the Philippine Information Agency and Grant Thornton Philippines.
| Normal collection | Not acceptable |
|---|---|
| A reminder of the due date or a call about an overdue balance | Threats of violence or of criminal charges you cannot be charged with |
| Offering a payment arrangement | Obscene, insulting or shaming language |
| Contacting you at reasonable hours | Contacting you before 6 a.m. or after 10 p.m., with limited exceptions |
| Contacting your named guarantor or co-maker | Messaging people in your phone contacts who are not guarantors or co-makers |
| Keeping your loan details private | Publishing or disclosing your name, photo or debt to other people |
Can you go to jail for an unpaid Tekcash loan?
No. The Philippine Constitution (Article III, Section 20) states that no person shall be imprisoned for non-payment of a debt. An unpaid online loan is a civil matter. Collectors who threaten arrest or “warrant” for simple non-payment are making a threat that the SEC rules treat as unfair collection. Fraud or a bounced check are different situations, and a genuine court summons should be answered, ideally with advice from a lawyer or the Public Attorney’s Office.

Subject: Complaint about collection messages – [your full name], [registered mobile number]
I am a Tekcash borrower (loan date: [date], amount: [amount]). On [dates and times] I received messages/calls from [numbers] that were [rude / threatening / sent to my contacts]. Screenshots are attached. Under SEC Memorandum Circular No. 18, Series of 2019, this is unfair debt collection. How to lower your risk before you borrow
- Borrow only an amount you can repay on the due date, and set a reminder a few days early. Check our Tekcash interest rate guide for the total cost.
- Read the app’s permission requests and the Data safety section on Google Play before installing. Deny contacts access if the app lets you.
- Never pay fees to individuals or personal accounts. Repay only through the channels in your app (see how to pay).
- Be careful with numbers and pages claiming to be Tekcash. Use only the contacts in the official app listings.
- For a wider view of borrower feedback, read Tekcash loan review complaints. To see other lenders first, compare loan options on our homepage.
